Why do you need to create a custom pay item?

In BrioHR, by default we have a list of available pay items that have been set according to local statutory bodies rules and regulations. However, there will be time whereby you need to create a custom item because you cannot edit the existing default item and to follow your company specific processes.


Hence, your only option is to create a custom pay item to cater to this situation.



*NOTE : Before creating a custom payslip item to be used in the payroll, it is advisable to check if similar items already exist in the Default Payslip Items list prepared by BrioHR.


1. Once you have logged in to your BrioHR account, click on the HR Lounge icon and select Payroll.



2. Next, click on Settings and select  Salary Allocation & Default Items field as highlighted in the sample screenshot below.




3. Next, click on the +Create custom item icon as shown below:



4. A pop-up (Create Custom Item) will appear. Fill in all the relevant fields, and click Submit to save your changes.

*NOTE : Kindly remember to select the correct options when creating a custom payslip item. As if the wrong option has been selected, it may affect the payroll calculations.

5. You may then click on the See list of Payroll Items icon, to confirm that the newly created custom payslip item has been added to the Item list accordingly.





6. If you want to edit your custom pay item, click on the pencil icon and make the changes.
