Why do I have to cancel an approved past date leave application on behalf of employees?

There are several situations that require the employees to delete their past date leave application, such as :

To re-apply as Medical/Sick Leave on the used date (eg, Annual leave - 19 April)

  1. The employee applied an Annual leave on 19 April, but on that date, he fell sick and went to see the doctor. The doctor then gave him the medical certificate for medical/sick leave.
  2. The system will not allow him to apply another leave type for the same date due to overlap of date (utilized for Annual leave).
  3. Since the date is in the past and it has been approved by his managers, he cannot cancel the applied leave
  4. Hence, the HR/Admin need to cancel on behalf for this employee to re-apply 19 April as a medical/sick leave.

Employee works on the date he applied the leave

  1. The employee applied an Annual leave on 12 December, but he was required to come to work on this date.
  2. He wanted to cancel the leave the day after, but unable to do so.
  3. Hence, the HR/Admin need to cancel on behalf of this employee to return back his unused leave days.
