We are thrilled to introduce a new feature on BrioHR that allows employees greater flexibility — the ability to modify details of past approved leaves within the current year.

Administrators can now choose to enable or disable the option for employees to modify details of their past approved leaves (within the year). This can be done within the Leave Policies section under HR Lounge. When enabled, employees can proceed to make adjustments to the date, justification message, and attachments associated with their past approved leave.

However, it's important to note that this modification feature does not extend to changing the type of leave initially applied for.

Example: If an employee originally applied for Annual leave and later wishes to switch it to Unpaid leave, the system will not permit this alteration. This enhancement ensures a seamless and transparent process for leave modifications while maintaining the integrity of the original leave type.

To view & manage this feature, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to HR Lounge > Leave > Leave Policies.

2. Scroll down to Leave Advance Settings.

3. Find the option for "Allow employee to modify leave in the past" and choose to Enable or Disable based on your organization's preference.

By default, this option is disabled to maintain consistency with existing processes, but you have the flexibility to enable it as needed.

Example: The employee has an Annual leave submitted for the 12th of May and it has already been approved.

The employee then can click on the approved leave and will be able to see the option to Modify Leave. They can proceed to make the modification required and Submit once again.

The modified request will undergo the approval process once again, ensuring proper authorization. Once approved, the system will now reflect the change made for the leave and also capture the modification in the timeline of the leave in See Details.
