At Leave approval workflow, HR/Admin may set "Client" as the approver. This is applicable when an employee has a project to work with an external client and you would like the client to be the approver as this leave is related to them.

Important note: 

Please ensure both the project and client information are updated in the Timesheet module and the employee profile > Project page. 


To set "Client" as approver, login to your BrioHR account:

1. Go to HR Lounge.

2. Navigate to Leave.

3. Go to Leave Policies.

4. Click View leave details on the policy name that you want to set "Client" as approver.

5. Under General Configuration/Leave Approval.

6. Edit the Approval Workflow and select Position - Client as the approver.



Questions: Does HR need to create a profile in BrioHR for "Client" as Leave approver?


Answer: HR doesn't need to create a profile for "client" in BrioHR. The client can approve the submitted Leave directly from his/her email.


Here are the steps showing how a client can approve a submitted leave via email. Once an employee submits their leave, the client (approver) will receive an email. 


1. Click on the blue link 'Click here to Approve/Reject'


2. The client will be directed to a new browser page 'Leave Approval Request'


This is where the client able to :

  • View Details of the Leave
  • Select the checkbox of an acknowledgement.
  • Click Approve Leave, or Reject Leave
