Effective 1 July 2024, following PERKESO (also known as SOCSO in English) announcement, expatriates and foreign workers will receive benefits under Invalidity Scheme which includes 24-hour protection and funeral repatriation costs.
Here are the steps to update Expatriates and Foreign Workers SOCSO contribution before running Payroll.
- Log in to your BrioHR account and Click on the People icon
- Search for the Name/ID of the employee at the Search column.
- Make sure the employee is an Expatriate / Foreign Worker with valid visa/pass in Malaysia.
- Click on the name of the employee, to be directed to the employee's Profile.
- At the employee's Profile, click on the Payroll section.
- Scroll down to find Statutory Contributions section and click on the Pencil button to Edit.
- Under SOCSO field, select Insured against invalidity and employment injury.
- Click the Save button once done.
Bulk Download/Upload
Alternatively, you may also perform bulk update by going to HR Lounge > Payroll > select your Payroll Center.
- In the Dashboard, scroll down and click on Bulk Download/Upload.
- Click on Download.xlsx to download the file which contained the payroll data of the employee.
- Open the excel file and refer to column AL, SOCSO.
- Update the SOCSO category of the employee affected to Insured against invalidity and employment injury.
- Once done, you may save the file and re-upload it back to the system by selecting the file under Upload payroll information and click on Upload Excel File .
- The data will then be uploaded successfully into the BrioHR account.
